Clothing: Ross - Mens: shoes: $30. Pants: $10-$20. Shirts: $5-$20. Jackets/sweatshirts: Around $20. Socks: Under $10. All name brand stuff too. Just has some flaws. It’s like this: They make so much and a bit of it does not pass quality inspection and thus is sold for a lower price.

Not sure about women because I’m male other then they have 5 times the selection.

Cell phone:

Verizon has prepaid @ $15 which last for one month. Basic plan does not charge per day for usage. You pay $.25 per text and minute. $30 gets you 3 months. Not good if you NEED to talk a lot however.

Home phone:

AT&T/yahoo/SBC has local unlimited for $10 a month. Just call and ask. No special deal.

Internet:

AT&T/yahoo/SBC has the basic DSL for $10 a month if you order online. $15 if you don’t. You get about 80kps max. Not sure if that’s the correct way to put it but dial up gives you about 5 or 6, this gives you 80. 1000 = 1mb.

We all know that vacuum sealing your food prevents freezer burn and extends the life of frozen foods by 500%, but are they economical?

Well, they can be. Buy smart and use the vacuum sealer the same way and it will become an invaluable tool for you in maintaining your frugal lifestyle. Here are some tips to help you make that happen:

Don’t buy the pre-sized bags, get the rolls so you only use the size you need.

After using a bag, wash it out and reuse it. Try to waste as little as possible when cutting them open. You can even turn the bag sideways and make it a smaller bag that way.

Buy meat that’s on sale, and seal and freeze individual portions. No freezer burn and you can keep your freezer full for cheap.

1 english muffin — $0.25
1-2 eggs — $0.15
1/2 - 1 hotdog — $0.12
1 slice cheese, optional — $0.10
pepper, optional

Total: $0.62

Cut the english muffin in half and put it in the toaster set for extra crispy. Meanwhile, beat the egg(s) lightly in a small bowl. Throw in pepper if you like. Cut up the hotdog into chunks. Get a medium fire under a small (8-9 inch is fine) non stick omelette pan going. At some point you might want to put a bit of oil in the pan but I find I can avoid it for non-stick.

Cook the hot dogs until slightly browned. Distribute them across the bottom of the pan and pour in the egg(s). Lower the fire. Stir a bit with a spatula. Let it set up a bit, a few minutes. You can cover it to speed it along.

When the top is nearly cooked, get a rubber spatula and cut the scramble down the middle. Here, you can insert a slice of cheese or whatever you want on each semi-circle. Fold the egg semi-circle over so it’s a quarter-circle.

Put each quarter-circle on a toasted english muffin half. This makes 2 open face McMuffins, or close it up for a gigantic McMuffin.

During the summer, produce is cheaper than in the winter. Apples, oranges, are a good plan.

Try local farmers’ markets, if there are any near you. You can *sometimes* get good, healthy, fresh food cheaply. Plus you are helping your local economy.

During the summer, produce is cheaper than in the winter. Apples, oranges, are a good plan.

See if there are any bakery outlets nearby. For instance, there’s an Oroweat outlet and a tasty outlet within a few blocks of my home. Bread that’s $3.50 in the grocery store costs about $1 there.

You can freeze bread so it won’t go bad as quickly.

Get a crock pot (they aren’t that expensive). You can put a few veggies and a cheap cut of meat (or not) with water, put it on low in the morning, and have a warm filling soup by dinner time.

Free Samples of Household Products at Walmart.com

Is there a better way to save money on household products other than using coupons? YES, getting them for FREE at Walmart.com.

It is by far the best free sample site around.

Save with Printable Coupons at Valpak.com

As the saying goes, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” that is why I swear by coupons to save money. Back before the internet I’d wait for the blue envelope of coupons from Valpak
